| Dazzling Daimler - This1968 Daimler V8 250 Sport Saloon began its life owned by a doctor in England who later brought the car to the United States when he moved to Texas. The car was then sold to an American military officer, who ironically ended up taking the car back to England when he was transferred there a few years later. The car ended up in a Collector's yard, from which is was purchased and brought to Andy for restoration. Equipped with the rare manual overdrive transmission, the Daimler had survived thirty years of use on two continents mostly intact but was in need of a total refit. The owner ended up driving the Daimler for six years before recently offering it at the Barron's Auction House in England. As a testament to the quality of the restoration work, the Daimler brought nearly twenty percent above the auction house's estimated worth based largely on the fit and finish and attention to originality. | |
